This Very Moment by Rachel Ann Nunes

When I got this book it was free, but right now its only free for Prime Members to borrow.

rating 4/5 PG

I liked this book. It was well written, clean, and talked about some hard things such as death, children with disabilites, etc.
It does talk about the LDS Church.

Author Description
Bill Dubrey is a sought-after plastic surgeon for LA’s prestigious and wealthy, and an equally sought-after bachelor. On the surface it appears he has it all—money, respect, and fame. Yet behind his aloof exterior lurks a tragic past that prevents him from finding lasting happiness.

All that changes on the day Kylee Stewart reenters his life. She alone knows Bill’s secret agony, and she is determined to help him face his past. During the years they’ve been apart, Kylee’s own life has been far from easy, but unlike Bill, she has turned to God in her need, finding a faith to which she desperately clings.

The tentative friendship they begin has Bill rethinking his stark future, yet he keeps his heart in check—afraid to commit, afraid to lose again. During Kylee’s darkest moment, when she needs him most, will he be there for her?

This book was probably a 2/5.

I had a hard time getting into it. It was kind of slow through the whole book. It was a clean, religious romantic story. While it was sweet, it was just too slow for me.

Author Description:

Joseph is dying of brain cancer.

The moment Rebecca hears this news from her father, a preacher in the small town of Continental, Maryland, she rushes to the side of the friend she knew since kindergarten, hoping to console him and offer him her support.
What he asks of her, however, leaves her completely in shock.

Will she go out with him?

Confused and flustered because she has never been asked out by a guy before, Rebecca flees but after some thought, decides to grant Joseph’s request.
She just needs to keep herself from falling in love with him so she won’t end up getting hurt.
Surely, she could manage that, couldn’t she?

Wrong.

With his sweetness and concern, Joseph slowly captures Rebecca’s untrained heart and after spending time with Joseph, it becomes clear to Rebecca that she is falling in love with Joseph. Hard.

She wonders if she should stop seeing him, afraid to lose another person she loves just like she lost her mother nine years ago, and just when she has made up her mind, she is faced with a different predicament.

After coming home from a trip, Joseph has changed and he won’t say why. Rebecca suspects that Joseph may have less time remaining than he thought, and is afraid to confront the fact, but the truth is something Rebecca did not see coming.

Will Rebecca be able to handle the truth or will it create a wedge between Rebecca and Joseph’s frail hearts for good?

Love this! Definitely a 5/5

It was originally given as a talk in and LDS General Relief Society Meeting, but it is a great gift for anyone!

Author Description:

Inspired by the five petals of the tiny forget-me-not flower, President Dieter F. Uchtdorf reminds us of five things we will be wise to never forget:
To be patient with ourselves
To distinguish between a good sacrifice and a foolish sacrifice
To be happy now
To focus on the “why” of the gospel
To know that the Lord loves each of us infinitely.

A wonderful gift for any woman in your life!

I absolutely love Anita Stansfield: This is an awesome series that I would give 5/5 to.

It's very clean so probably PG for things like the male character works for the FBI and goes through things that result in PTSD, kissing,
It does get religious talking about the LDS Church (Mormons, Christians).

It heavily involves the theme of Charles Dickens.

I love this series. Definitely  worth the read! And it can stand on its own as a single book.

Author Description:
A sprawling Montana setting; a charming bed-and-breakfast inn brimming with Dickensian decor; a beautiful and deeply spiritual innkeeper with secret sorrows from her past; a Granny who is as delightful as she is wise; and a handsome guest whose lifestyle and past are both troubled and troubling these are the elements of a captivating novel of romance and intrigue. With characters that are vital and vulnerable, and a plot that is wholly unpredictable, this story is a journey of choices and amazing opportunities. Once again, Anita Stansfield proves her versatility as a storyteller extraordinaire in this novel that is an ingenious blend of romance, mystery, and Dickensian charm. The Best of Times will prove to be a favorite in the best Stansfield tradition. Volume 1 in the series.

Bluegrass State of Mind by Kathleen Brooks*

I have read all the books by this author that are out so far. The later books get less descriptive in the sexual scenes, but I tend to start skipping when I can tell they are coming.

These are probably PG-13 or higher for passionate kissing, some mild sexual scenes, attempted rape, and some drinking. (Like I said I tend to skip the sexual scenes)

This specific book and the ones directly related to the story line are about a sex scandal that takes place in New York. The first two of the books in this series ends in cliff hangers.

I do like the Bluegrass Brothers books better because they don't deal with something quite so icky, (seperate story line).

Author Description:

McKenna Mason, a New York City attorney with a love of all things Prada, is on the run from a group of powerful, dangerous men. McKenna turns to a teenage crush, Will Ashton, for help in starting a new life in beautiful horse country. She finds that Will is now a handsome, successful race horse farm owner. As the old flame is ignited, complications are aplenty in the form of a nasty ex-wife, an ex-boyfriend intent on killing her, and a feisty race horse who refuses to race without a kiss. Can Will and McKenna cross the finish line together, and more importantly, alive?

I would give this book a 2/5. And would probably rate it up in the PG-13 area.

It was well written and I did enjoy it, until towards the end. However it is a very long book. It is very similar to Twilight and while I won't give away the end, it does turn out different.

There is a lot of biting, passionate kissing, and one scene where there is attempted rape. I did tend to skip over the last part of the book where it talks about the attempted rape. It did not end in a cliff hanger which I appreciated, but there are books continuing on with the same characters.

While it was good, I probably won't read it again, and I wasn't really interested in continuing the series.

Author Description:

How can you be attracted to a guy who just said he wants to kill you?

Ara-Rose asks herself the same question. She’s been torn away from her old life, thrown into a new one in a new country, and in the midst of death, heartache and depression, she finds herself in love with a vampire—one who kills people with his teeth!

But the vampire is forbidden to fall for this human, and at the point Ara-Rose decides she can’t live without him, he pulls away and leaves her falling back to the darkness he woke her from. She will be caught up in a century-old feud among brothers, and the fight for love becomes a fight for her life.

The only question now is whether her beloved vampire will find her in time, or leave her to face a destiny he triggered with their first kiss.

Worth the read

I've decided to start a blog with every book (starting now) that I will ever read.
The good
The bad
and the just plain ugly!
Not only for my own sake (going back to see which Amazon books are worth reading again...) but also for all of you. So when free books come up (and we all know they do) Then I will have either started, or read them and there is a place to check them out first! If they are free I will post about them and the link with it to get it on Amazon! I will give it a rating out of five and also a rating for maturity level.
I'd love to have others post about their favorite books, so please feel free to email me to add a post.
